Free web hosting services are built around promotions and there is nothing wrong this. Indeed customer always get something which is not meant to be free. There is no harm in taking a free service either. But if you mean serious business you won't spend too much thought on Free versus paid for your hosting needs.

Beginners are on a budget crunch, also they need to learn many things before they truly start making profit out of business. If you are on budget crunch then taking a free hosting for some days is not a bad idea, However, you should truly focus on scaling up.
