Born in family of  a farmer, I have seen many festival days over a year. To me festival means some elders will be invited over meal, may be one, ten or hundreds. My basic understanding about festival was when many grand parents from neighborhood will come to our home, priest will come to  offer prayers to God and then meal will be served. Kids will be asked to maintain silence or go in the open and play with aunts. Ah, those were the good old days. Those days taught me a lot specially discipline and respect to elders. Do not raise fights with other kids was also a norm. Very soon during my teens I realized we have many festival over the years.
