Hiring decision for business beginners

Decision with Precision can make or break your startup. However, no decision will lead you nowhere. When doing business be ready to fail. Decide to hire talent, true talent, not cheap. True talent is when a person think on own instead of waiting orders. Look for long term goals. See your first as life long business partner. Of course an employee is always free to walk out but employee retention is something that an entrepreneur must know.

  • Invite enough number of applicants.
  • Shortlist many at least 20% of those numbers.
  • Talk to them. Find reasons why this person is willing to work. If I hire this fellow will he stay with company for long.
  • Asking price? Do not look for very cheap resources. Instead hire the one who is asking more. 

If you are in financial crunch instead offer some percentage in business or performance based remuneration together with salary. Or hire for less hours. Pay more for less hours is better than paying cheap. 

  • Select few even if you need one. Invite for a paid demo task and chose the better one that can do justice for the price you pay.
  • If you need one staff only I would say hire two. You are hiring human not robots. A backup resource is important  so you can focus on main task i.e. doing business.
  • Do not be a silly interviewer. Sound nice and be nice. You will be better in finding suitable resources.
  • Prefer to hire freshers they are easy on learning.

And lastly this piece you reading in last 2 minutes is for solopreneurs. Period.

 Just I was writing an email to my collogue and the term Hack Gaps suddenly I keyed. So let's Hack Gaps to build that unique brand. My terms are stolen more often so I thought to key down it here to flaunt and say see I am the creator of Hack Gaps. How to get quality traffic on a single page website that converts

Single page website? Not a bad idea. May be you want to sell your products online. You can not write too much as you are too busy in creating and modifying your product. And you need to travel a lot for promotions. Outsourcing could be one of the answer but if your budget is tight then hiring a freelancer may drain your money. And writing regular blog post would be tough. In such a situation one page website can serve the purpose. It will be easy to update especially if its cms based may be like wordpress for example. Its one page website with simple product picture, detailed description, ways to order and customer review. You are not tech savvy and don't want to invest too much on website's geeky things. One page is enough for you. Its doable, but without traffic how will you generate online sales. That is the question right?
