One person at a time

Phone ettiquete

Calls are important. You need to make and reply.
When call must ask first if the receiver is in right situation to respond.
When taking a call do not hold caller for the other person.
When you are in a meeting with anyone do not take calls.
When you hold a person for the sake of answering next it gives impression that man who was already engaged with you is less important.
Systematic approach is important. Basic etiquette are important to make your business successful.
I never met any successful person not having phone manners.
On the other hand those less serious are complaint box, no manners, no systems, no etiquette.
The way a person handle his phone from that I guess seriousness of doing business.
On a given day a man was sitting with me we initiated a serious discussion, he took call in between and next I told him to decide first if the work in discussion is right for him.
A given day I made a call to my office colleague, project was very important and in between, when we were on peak of it she told me, perhaps, one incoming call is there I will call you later. One year passed she never returned the call on that matter. Its irresponsible behavior.
Bad etiquette may break your business. It shows you are not serious.
If you are an starter or thinking to start a business learn basics and first make rules for yourself.
When you do not have set rules you are bound to create mess.
One good friend of mine made life successful. From rag to rich she bought a car. I appreciate her courage and leadership. A day when I called she was driving. I asked to finish driving first. But reply was unfortunate, she told me, why to follow all rules of road. Of course, I didn't took pain of extending suggestion.
A person who think driving and talking together is fine is bound to cause catastrophe and she did that within 3 months of buying a new car.
If she may have made rules or followed them perhaps she may have gone bigger and by now may be have found place in business columns.
One task at a time, one person at a time...
When you learn to give 100% in daily life you make it a habit to give 100% to business too.
I never visit those restaurants again where table service ask anything else at the first instance. If I have ordered a dish serve me first once finished then you can ask.
When I am alone why are you trying to sell multiple orders in one go. That means you only mean sale not customer satisfaction.
Human is bound cause mistake; at times we are not able to give 100%, but we can always push us for betterment.

How to get quality traffic on a single page website that converts

Single page website? Not a bad idea. May be you want to sell your products online. You can not write too much as you are too busy in creating and modifying your product. And you need to travel a lot for promotions. Outsourcing could be one of the answer but if your budget is tight then hiring a freelancer may drain your money. And writing regular blog post would be tough. In such a situation one page website can serve the purpose. It will be easy to update especially if its cms based may be like wordpress for example. Its one page website with simple product picture, detailed description, ways to order and customer review. You are not tech savvy and don't want to invest too much on website's geeky things. I said quality traffic that converts and make your bank account numbers increase. After all you mean sales. Its a good idea that you want to focus on you...

Say yes for the sake of formality but when

Being informal is not a bad idea. Being hundred percent informal may break your business into pieces. Building a business requires to gather hundreds of bits and pieces. It takes sweat and build and unknowingly you break it when you are hundred percent informal. Being too much informal is sound rigid even if you don't mean then too a client, a customer, a support staff may consider you dominating or arrogant. Building a business requires partnerships not one but many. The legendary cricketer Sir SR Tendulkar has mentioned in many interviews, 'cricket is about partnerships and its not only cricket, life is about partnerships.'  Being realistic is fine but being too realistic can break that partnership that you have built over years. Relationship building is a task. And just for one small reason which may even be not reason you can break a beautiful partnership with a potential prospect. People in and around me are often happy in my company. Together we enjoy pretty good tim...
