Google Drive

The buzz is that….

Google is driving Google Drive, oh, not on the streets of Paris, indeed on the clouds.
Yes, you heard right, as soon in put query “drive” in Google Search Engine, the suggestion tool shown me drive.google.com in drop down at No 3, needless to say I followed the link and I was greeted by Google Drive page, where in the extreme top right is a sign in button. I am a google user since a decade or more and so I sign using my google id which drive to the next window saying “your drive is not ready yet, we will inform you in your mail once it get ready” so I am waiting for my new google drive.

What I will get is 5GB of free storage, that means enough to keep articles in rtf format for at least one year from now, sufficient for me. However if you are a business photographer for example, and need more space, you can go for a paid version and google drive will offer 25 GB storage.

At first look it seems, using Google Drive is easy as attaching an email or using a face book account. The people who are already Google Docs user will find it easy to use, however for new users I will personally say, do some hit and try with google docs if you have never used docs before, this will develop an understanding in you how to use Google Drive.

Trust matters, in past 10 years of day and night internet uses I never found any big flaw in google products even in Beta stage. Storing your data in Google Drive means giving access to Google to your important files and information; however they are highly professional and you can believe on them same as you believe on your banker. What to store and what not to store is completely your choice.

Here let me draw a fine line between what to store and what not to store on a Google Drive.

We all do banking, concerned bankers always knows how may $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ we have in our bank account. Do any of ever share information like ************* with a banker NO.

Same is true with Google Drive. Hope you understand well what I mean exactly.

Signing up for google drive is as easy as 1,2,3.

If you already have a google id you can sign in with the same.

Just logon to http://drive.google.com

One my google drive ready I will update you through this blog how to use google drive and its different aspects.

Work from anywhere, myth or reality

Are you a digital nomad? If you travel a lot, then this article is not for you. Instead you should share your experiences here. If you have written something then perhaps sharing a link will do a lot of help. However, if you are not the one and planning to travel a lot, or may be less, whatever in your capacity you will face many challenges. Living space I am not talking about Sweden or Singapore. My experience says in Indian cities and if you are Indian finding a place to sit and work will be difficult. Search for the place before you set in. This should be a huge challenge if you have no property or things like home. Internet 5G is still a myth, 4G may be not in Tier 1 Cities for example Mumbai or Delhi, however even in famous tourist places for example say Goa getting a decent internet for work and far from main town areas will be challenging. And the main town aka city side rent will be skyrocketing. Lightweight laptop If you depend a lot on a laptop it should be lightweight f...
