How to Polish Writing Skills?

You are a budding writer and your work must need to be read to earn you livelihood accompanied with name and fame in writing circle and around. Being writer is not easy, when you write, your words prints and goes public. People follow your ABCs, you have to be extremely cautious before penning the script. This is what separates good writers from bad writers. Precisely speaking, there exist no bad writers; only good and better.

Being a writer you have to polish your skills and upgrade your knowledge on continuous basis. You need to be avid reader. This not mean good reader makes good writers, rather if you have writing instincts, read a lot.

  • Read everything, that comes your way, this makes vocabulary richer, a must for rich writing.
  • Know your fellow writers; those who write for same domain aka readers to whom you target; read their creations.
  • Identify why a writer among your readers group is most loved, is it because of script, language fluency or cheap price of books.
  • In most of the cases you will found script is the Key. Other factors are also not less important.
  • Know your readers, what interests them, keep your language, definitions and facts & figures leveled with them; level headedness is important.
  • Subscribe to libraries; both online and in house so as to access valuable resources for lesser price.
  • Your writing need to be such that readers won’t requires help to understand it.
  • Perform lots of researches before embarking on a particular subject do as much research as you can from authentic resources.
  • If you are writing a manuscript where certain technicalities are involved by chance to which you are not the authority, take help from fellow professionals.
  • Hire good editors and proofreaders who posses excellent command over subject matter.
  • Do not copy to become rich overnight, go slow; read as much as you can from other sources. Copying is a sin, this will lead you nowhere.
  • When you are a budding writer no publisher will be willing enough to publish your work.
  • Self Publishing is another option but it will be difficult to market your books.
  • Do not loss hopes, there are plenty of publishers who will be ready to publish your work. Keep contacting them, certainly you will find one.
  • Revise your books periodically to keep them up-to-date for your readers.
  • Set your website, blog and social network so as to be known universally.
  • To begin with, do not look for paid work, start writing as guest writer and rest will follow.
