1. Local Newspaper Advertising: This works well for individuals and small size businesses.  For services like PC repairing,  selling water heaters,  coaching centers,  buying and selling used cars etc local newspapers are the best options.

Google Adwords: Google has largest market share in advertising space.  It fits for any business.  You can chose your demographics and budget.  Today most people have Android phones.  Google shows search ads based on location and search keywords. You can get maximum Return On Investment (ROI) if done rightly.
3. Facebook: It's second largest online advertiser in the world. However,  advertise here if you already have loads of connections.  If not build it.  You can chose your demographics and budget.
4. Influencer Advertising: Do you know someone who is well known in your area of work.  Chances are that person has lots of local connections.  You can request him / her to give a shout out for your business. 
Do not get benefit indeed pay for it genuinely.  You need money so does the other person.
5. Twitter for business: Use the power of twitter for advertising if your area of operation is not very limited. However,  building connections is important.  If you have no connection nobody will bother to DM you for a purchase.
6. Instagram Advertising: It works well for business those have loads of graphics. If you have the power to build cool photos and graphics build your connections on Instagram and start advertising.
7. Write a blog: If you can't write hire someone to write for you.  Share knowledge. For example,  you are a tutor,  write blog around your subject area.  Students may get help from your blog when you are not around.

10. List Advertising: Networks like Quikr,  OLX are well known for buying and selling.  List your business on these sites and spent some money on advertising too.
