Information War, Personal Security and Me

Too much of anything is just bad. You cannot consume too much in your tummy, you cannot consume too much in your mind. I was never a social media person because if I don't know a person how can I interact and share my personal interests. However, at one point I worked for a social media company and created many accounts, written many social media guides and published online.
The noise that social media creates gives an illusion that you can make big things out of it. Though I never spend many hours on social media but I started sharing content on it, on and off, and with certainty I can say my own sites performed better without social sharing.
From my experiences I found going on many social channels means dilution of ideas. Because I am individual and not a company I cannot go to many social channels and create content. I don't have budget to appoint someone who can work for me on social media. If you are individual blogger like me and creating many social channels for sure you are diluting your brand value. Because less reach directly implies to poor you. There is no excuse for your site not performing on social media if you have created channels over there.
Since I am a technical writer so going on social media every now and then gave me value for my time. I didn't lost anything. But things started worsening two years back with the rise of fake news. Today, every morning when I check mobile for latest updates I do found fake news, a lot of fake news. That kills my time unnecessarily.
Next when I check social channels after finishing my days task again I find very good headlines but no value, all empty noises. There is too much boasting on social media, everyone is an expert. If there are thousands of expert worldwide the knowledge itself becomes questionable.
In my personal opinion there is 95% fake news on social media, this also includes news channels including television.
At this point I remember a line from poem of John Keats, 'where have we lost knowledge in information, where have we lost wisdom in information.'
Social Media presents distorted knowledge. If I put in words of Churchill, then I would say its full of rascals.
The majority of content that is served today is dangerous. We need to get rid of fakeism. Otherwise days are not far when our kids will start seeking mother's love on social channels.
Social Media is not so social.
The makers of social media has put an assumption in front of public that go to social media and solve all your problem including getting rich. Poverty is biggest epidemic and social media is making good use of this fear.
Another big problem with Social Media is, it presents distorted knowledge, it makes you jack of everything and master of nothing. I can't deny the fact that social media is one of the largest marketplace on Internet. Its one complete online industry segment. It also has created many jobs, but at the same time it turned out like a call center where you can work and earn livelihood but don't get any life skills.
Needless to say I also have earned from social media, but hold a minute, I didn't earned for using it indeed I earned for my copy writing skills. I never earned a single penny for use of a social media. My job was always writing.
I am not against use of social media sites, but I would voice for the right use. If you are using too much social media you are creating a mess and future generations will spend lives in cleaning your dirt.
Social Media is good for nothing. Likes and shares are hundred times cheaper than washing your dirty linen. If you want to use social media for learning, quit it, go and find a book.
No knowledge is better than half knowledge.
People come to social media to find quick fixes, shortcuts, results without efforts. Is that truly possible?
How much social media you shall use is your choice but use it wisely. If you are looking for quick fixes you are making ways to disasters.

Personally, I did away with social media because of data leak. None of social accounts has harmed me in anyways. But data leak is so common, every time there is a leak news I need to check across websites if everything is fine. That is pretty unnecessary botheration for me if I am not using it even fifteen minutes a day. In case of leak reviewing my profiles becomes tiresome and time consuming both.

OneUp Today: Using AI to Make Reddit Outreach More Targeted, Personal, and Measurable

For indie hackers and solopreneurs, finding early customers is often harder than building the product itself. Reddit can be a strong channel because it is full of niche communities where people openly discuss problems and ask for recommendations. The catch is scale. Manually scanning threads, writing thoughtful replies, following up in DMs, and tracking outcomes quickly turns into hours of daily work, and it is difficult to measure what is actually working. OneUp Today is a marketing automation platform built to reduce that manual workload while keeping the outreach human. It helps founders discover relevant conversations on Reddit, draft personalized responses and DMs in the founder’s own voice, and track what happens after someone clicks a link or replies. Why Reddit Works, and Why It’s Hard Unlike many ad platforms, Reddit is conversation-first. People show intent by describing their pain points in detail. That makes it valuable for early-stage products, es...
