Everyone want to do this but many hold the idea back in hope of, perhaps next year will be good, by then I will save more to invest in business. Often many found themself at the same spot after one year, then next year and then next.
Idea of setting an office is really cool. It is truly wonderful when your accounts report you last quarter profits. But to reach to that point you need resources.
If you have an idea of doing business in mind do not hold back.
You don't need money at all to start a business.
You are the best salesperson for your skills. No one else can sale better than you.
Start small, take very first step. Reach out to your potential customers. Offer them your service for a price. Your price could be zero for first customer, your earning could be zero from first customer. But your goal is to get first satisfied customer. When you achieve this goal you will build a sense of confidence. Next you will promote your service in much better way.
And when there are takers money will flow in automatically.
A satisfied client will give you positive reviews and perhaps some references too. If not then too you have one completed work under your belt to showcase in your business portfolio.
Starting small has many benefits:
1. Learning customer psychology
2. No monetary losses
3. Strong network in your market
4. High level of confidence building
5. True knowledge of what customer want
6. Better personal branding
7. Less expenses on advertising when you expand
Do not leave your job for starting business. Indeed first use leverage of available time out of job to get the first client.
First gather momentum in business. Reach to an earning threshold equivalent to your monthly expenses. Then give a relook to whether you need to resign from day job.
If you are starting this way, ideal time to resign from day job is when you have funds for atleast 3 or 6 months expenses in your bank. The more the better.
Going this way is pretty tough, it's very small when you want to share dinner table with Warren Buffet.
But
Small things are made big with right efforts.
