7 SEO tips to take your business to new level in New Year

Now its times to look back what you have achieved in past year(s), find your weak zones, make plans for improvements and take your business to new heights.

Irrespective of the kind of business and strategy you follow; SEO makes parts of every business. Better SEO means better business. To give your SEO strategy a boost here I am sharing simple tips, you will found worth!

1. Look back 

Yes, you heard right. ‘Look back inside technical aspects of your website.’ Make a check thoroughly for anything broken inside, may be a social media button, a web page with error 404, robot issues or Google Analytics Conversion Errors. Make good use of Google Webmaster Tool to find any and all errors. Remember search engine downgrades even best of the websites for any errors in codes whether error is caused by you or third party applications.

2. Update your Google Analytics Goals

Just in case if Goal URLs are revised but same is not updated in your GA Goals, make sure to update them now. One of the nice thing about Google Analytics is, it facilitates for Goal Tracking and alerts if robot sees some drastic changes in your goal number.


3. Repurpose Basics

In the mist of getting more business and taking care for customers most often we tend to ignore small things on our own websites and blogs. Imagine if you have done so once in every week in past year, then there are 52 errors accumulated on your database, enough for a search engine to find your website as lesser trusted medium. AGREED??? Well, now go inside check all Title Tags, Meta Descriptions, Alt Text and anything in between. Smaller details matters as much as bigger pictures. Canvas is meaningless without brush and paint.

4. Repurpose Content

You have written some nice blog posts over the years. Those were awesome in those times. Look across all those previous posts if not all then at least top headings of your website and blog those made headlines or brought more business your way. Publishing a post and never looking on it back is like burying ‘someone’ alive. Sadly, many companies does that but not the top performers.

5. Cross Check

About Us / Contact / Product / Services / Pricing / Anything; make a cross check through all those pages and make it doubly sure whether information is correct, if contact form, social media widgets and email notification subscription buttons works properly.

6. Learn from your competitors and Follow those

No, do not envy, they are the best friends. Look across your competitors’ websites, how they have improved over the years, what changes they made and what clients and customers say about them. Learn, follow and win.

7. Work on local advertising
Search Engines bring everything closure as closure as on your fingertips. Everything is there on your fingertips, android phones brought those things closure to your minds. But this has created information overload. Business comes from neighborhood and periphery, but finding local is pretty tough. Count on local advertising to promote your website; go local so people have access to you. Chose for free advertising or paid or mix of both, that's your decision.

Why small business shall not count on SEO but paid campaign

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is very slow process.  If your are a business owner,  already have businesses,  and making profit, then you can hold on,  wait for couple of months to grow your business organically through search engines like Google. However,  if you are a new business and looking for immediate profit,  do not count on SEO.  It's a slow process.  Perhaps,  by the time your business grow through seo you will need to close it because of no actual results. Actual result means sales that can make more money than expenditures. If you are new in business instead of hiring seo guy I will suggest you to spend money on paid campaign like adwords,  Facebook ads etc. If you have better budget,  go hand in hand for paid advertising and seo else put money but WISELY on paid campaigns to generate some quick sales.
