How to Write Permalink for Blogger Blog Post

Are you a blogger like me who use blogger.com free CMS to write blog posts? Well, writing a permalink is as important as putting water to boil in a kettle over flame for making a cup of coffee. It tastes great when water heats up till accurate temperature.

Permalink is like appropriate flame to heat up water for making a cup of coffee.

By definition, a permalink is the link url of a webpage that audience refer to others and put on a web page for reference. This is the same page url that displays on the address bar in a web browser. Once a permalink is created, you can never change it. If you will change it the reference url put by others across internet for your page simply will result in an error page, and nobody want to see error page. Search engine ranks negatively such websites and blogs that have error pages. In other words (SEO Terms) it’s called broken link. Search Engine hates broken links.

So while publishing a story, it’s of utmost importance to decide right permalink for your blog post. Shorter the better; both your audience and search engine will like it.

A permalink may compose of words and numbers. Keep It Short and Simple and keep it make meaningful by selecting right kind of words and numbers related your blog post.

In a blogger CMS, blog post title automatically becomes a permalink.

To customize it:

In a blogger post window Roll Your Eyeballs towards right

Under Post Setting Look for Links, Click On it

Drop Down list will appear with two choices Automatic Permalink and Custom Permalink

Click On Option Custom Permalink

Now, below the title link field write your post url

Put symbol – (hyphen) between two words to join them together.

Click on Done button below.

The blog post url, the way it will appear in a browser address bar will be readable now. If you want to make some change to it, do it right away. Because you can not change the blog post url once post is published; it will become a permanent link.

You can keep permalink as you wish; however it’s recommended that you should keep it meaningful so audiences may find it easy to refer to others. More references to a post means more links to your blog post and more audiences to you.
