6 Website mistakes you should not repeat in 2022

Not updating old content: Old is Gold, popular saying, right? Gold glitters when taken care. Goldsmith earn decent money from cleaning gold ornaments and remaking. At least in my geography 50% footfall an average in a goldsmith shop happens for repurposing gold items (include others as well). Not focusing on specifics: Your website is open for all world, right? But everyone is not your buyer for many reasons. In spite of your size  your customer base is limited. Know your customers. Make your website customer centric.  Not spending on marketing: A website without marketing is a like a fashion store without showcases. If your website won't show up nobody will bother to get your services. Reach to people as often as you can. Reach in person, reach online. Give presence. Not Investing on UI/UX: Your website should be effortless to browse through for both search robots and humans. And it should be presentable. Nobody want to take a bouncy route to a destination when there are many alte

Client/Customer Retention: How to get repeated customers

Your business is launched whether small, medium or big. You got first few customers/clients did you ever counted how many customers are walking back to again. If you are not getting repeated customers find the gaps. If you can't find the gaps/loopholes you won't be able to Hack Gaps. Finding gaps and Hack Gaps to retain customers in Offline Business is comparatively easy than in online business. When you know the customers' faces you can interact directly. This is why ecommerce companies counts much on customer reviews. Customer come back or go for many reasons; some could be Product Quality, Service Quality and Behavior. Price might be an issues if someone selling the same product or service for less cost. But price is secondary. Take customers feedback. People come in different package. You cannot expect that everyone will tell fault and gaps in your product or service. This is why companies ask for Star Graded Ratings. Give your customers enough channels to criticize you

Hack Gaps

Just I was writing an email to my collogue and the term Hack Gaps suddenly I keyed. So let's Hack Gaps to build that unique brand. My terms are stolen more often so I thought to key down it here to flaunt and say see I am the creator of Hack Gaps. I don't know if anyone before today has said or written or thought that term before I wrote that email.  Whether someone before has thought or not, not my business. But my business is to make optimal use of the term I said, and thought it's nascent for me. However, you have to wait for sometime or may be days before I come up with something may be like how to use hack gaps to build your brand.

Consistency

That one word discussed less often. People talk about Goals, give examples, create noises and vanish. But interestingly nobody talks about play field. Goals when set are not achieved. This happen more than often because then our concentration goes to goal post and bypass everything in between. Let me tell you an incident. Focus on Goal or Setting a Goal is a perfect idea but to make that idea work you have to master the play field. I started a blog, thought let's see if I will get visitor, few visitor happen. I started running Google AdSense, thought let's see if I can get advertisement. It started happening. I thought let's do more post and see how everything changes. Visitor started increasing. I thought because I work alone, lets see what will happen if I do quality post. Blog start booming. I started making Good money, sufficient to live in any Indian City. And here started my bad days. For few days I was out of work. At this point out of nothing no solid reasons

Work hard but when

Work hard Those are two words I grew listening with As a young kid I used to think should I go forest and cut some tree branches, or like my Grandpa graze some cattle or like that uncle go farm. And if work hard is the key why not my dad go forest so we can buy and fly an airplane. Perhaps small children think like that and think much freely, don't know though but I was like that. Airplane dream never realized and when I joined a company I was told we want to be number 1. I didn't nodded even, just learnt CEO want to take company to No. 1 position, somewhere deep down I took that as a challenge. The inner me knows I have an opportunity to invest resources and grow. I am in habit of enjoying my task so no big deal, I know I can try my best to work my way, results are not in my hands. What I can do is called work. And being a physics student i know when we multiply force to distance we get work done. That work could be hilarious, why not, laughing gas is there a result of work do

Why documentation is important for bloggers

More often I received requests to improve website SEO or build a new website or improve an existing one. One common problem with lot of those website owners and bloggers is they do not have any documents about their expectations. They say do it best, do it as you like, I mean business. Or maximum they present some similar site. Imagine a legal professional showing you a similar site and its about a hotel or resort. That is not the story of most novice only. Even people in IoT business since over a decade and software professionals act numb. This simply put off me. Whenever you start a blog or website, ask yourself Why I am creating this website? Who are my prospects? What I expect from this website? How this website well fulfill my expectation? How I want this site to look like? How I will promote this website? How often I will need upgrade? How much budget and time I can allocate for this? Write down answers to above questions and any additional one that you have? To help you design p

Move out or move on,

when no option is left? Students of Mathematics knows that every problem has a solution; and, even no solution is a solution. You do not need to be a Mathematician to accept this. The thoughts I am going to say here are outcome of a hard learning out of my personal life (details not needed) but this relates to business as well. Starting a business is first step but to take it to next level needs significant efforts. 3M = Money, Mind, Mass: you need to put in right proportion, at right time, at right places to keep it going. Often you succeed. However there is always a possibility of unknown. This unknown could be small, medium, big or giant to stop you. And unfortunately when everything is going fine and you are near to achieve your targets you meet this unknown, the giant: a situation when everything is going good but all of a sudden everything put on a halt with a massive jerk. You are in a situation where nothing in your hand, you think why this has happened to you, where you need

Steal that Lunchbox

Employers in majority like to see heads sunk in computers and machines. Business managers like to see team sweating and shivering. Clients do not fix appointment but they give own time. Perhaps this is story of many under growing companies. On the other hand growing companies work in association with team mates. In undergrowing companies employees are paid for task. In growing companies they are paid for value addition. Human mind is designed to add value when put for a challenge. Normally business managers, ceos, clients do not put a challenge, this is where productivity hampers. You can not open and shut human brain with commands. There requires right enzymes in right amount at right time to add value. Every brain is important. Every mind has some potential. And to dig out that potential you need to sweat. The work environment should not be boring for anyone. There must be enough flexibility for everyone. And you need to add some fun too. Fun is not about taking your employees to hil

Learn to read

Do not read to learn. Kids go school for reading and comeback exhausted. In many higher education institutions Ph.D candidates read and compile thesis based on how much they have learnt based from reading over say 3 or 5 years or may be more sometime with grant or without grant. Often I have seen one trend the people who impress you own many books, think any name that come to your mind and check what the person read. You will find a coal business person may have books on literature. A mathematics professor may have books of archeology. Talk to them. Often you will find the person attached with a certain profession can only speak or debate around that area only. Or discuss something random and you will be taken that certain area of work or passion. Consider sports. Cricket. Jonty  Rhodes best fielder and enjoys water sports.  The successful people are open, they learn from everywhere and apply those ideas in personal development and profession. No matter how many money making classes yo

How to build a business with minimum resources

Note: This article is not for everyone. Read at your own risk. Farmers' protests are ongoing in India. Precisely Indian Capital New Delhi is filled with farmers, protesters and supporters. In childhood, I learnt from text books that India is Agrarian Economy. And justified this statement my own ways, the young kid in me.  If I walk from my home towards East may be 10s of Kms then there is all land, land for agriculture, towards West its all forest, towards South may be forest with Lions but if I go towards North 7 km then there is market and Railways. So less railways/market, more land and hence India's economy is based on agriculture. Though this supposition was purely childish. But in my teens I realized its not untrue either. Geography was there to prove the facts. And to my surprise later I learnt boys and girls learn Agriculture as a Subject and then got to know Ag Sci is also taught in America. For me land was something on which I will work to buy my dream car.  Hey, that

Ask Tough Questions-Get Simple Answers

I will do but its not easy, I can do but its tough. I may do but there are hurdles. Life goes like that. Be it day to day life, schooling, job, small business or entrepreneurship.  Ask Tough Questions-Get Simple Answers. Often we have a question or many questions, we need answer but don't know who to ask. Many of us ask questions to our friends, family and general people. For various reasons we often do not reach to experts. Getting in touch with an expert is not easy. We need to book appointment and may require to pay some fees. Often when we have a question we ask to people we are most comfortable with. Sometimes we get answer but oftentimes we get advice. There is a huge difference in advice and answer. Answer is precise and based on facts and figures while advice often comes based on assumptions. Much advice much confusion and moving ahead becomes tougher. So you can get Answer to your business questions this blog is here. Writing post around each and every business topic under

Leadership of Jacinda Ardern is a silent winner

She is a down to earth. She stays calm. She understand situation. She take calculative moves. She feel for people behind her. She cares. She love. She celebrate. She is Jacinda Ardern She is The Prime Minsiter of New Zealand during COVID 19 Pandemic. Today New Zealand is celebrating, NZ become the first CORONA virus free country and this become possible because of the Man Behind Chair, the Jacinda Ardern. I am not sure if Prime Minister won't like all praise here and she will punish me for publishing her name without consent, I don't know at all, but one thing I can say with guarantee, there are three types of political leaders in the world, Doer, Idler and Jacinda Ardern  I grown listening to Rajiv Gandhi, AB Vajpayee, Bill Clinton, Barak Obama and the likes, Their leadership certainly deserves a bow. But when you talk about Jacinda a bow seems little less. I read the news via NDTV web portal and you know what, I clapped, I clapped without knowing it what I just did, then I lo

How to avoid distractions during COVID-19 while working from home

All of a sudden WFH become synonymous to work from home and it got hashtag #WFH as well. To those who new to work from, its a challenge. I work from home under different tags in over 13 years I am in habit of it. To me getting to work means leave the bed and take 2 steps. But at times even I get puzzled either due to less productivity or maybe there are days when I am not getting many thoughts to put in writing or maybe simply chair looks boring to me. To get rid of all this I have divided my tasks into chunks and I put those in different baskets. I prefer using a bigger screen but when I feel I am not comfortable sitting despite I am not tired I get to rest and do things on mobile, for example, I can read things of my use on mobile so I can give better career advice or sit with a laptop and do edits and proofing. Work from home need self-dedication; there is nobody to ask you to finish a task faster. For me, disciplined working is a compulsion and I am adopted to it. I am fully respon

Work from home; pleasure or pain

Work from home, be your own boss, set your own work hours, earn unlimited is all myth and less reality. There are two categories of work from home, 1. when you hired on a permanent role and 2. When you hired as a contract employee. Under both heads you must need to 'over promise and over deliver', an employer would expect you to deliver as much as you can and nothing wrong in this, you have to perform in best of your capacities to give the best results. When you work from home chances of losing your work maximizes if you think nobody is watching, work speaks in itself. If you will steal time or won't work up to your maximum capacity, the employer will know and you will be fired anytime. When you decide to work from home, make sure you will do a little extra. This also holds true when you go office and work eight hours. But when you work at your own space where nobody is on your head asking progress responsibilities exceeds. When working from home, do not take responsibility
